Plans and Projects

The Foundation works closely with teachers, administrators and community leaders to develop and define programming for investment opportunities across the District. Since recently merging with the Woodland Hills Academic Foundation (WHAF), we can now more effectively drive our shared goals.

Below are some highlights on the successful programs, some of which include WHAF programs, over the last 10 years. For more information on WHAF programming and success stories please go to their website by clicking here.
  • The Foundation successfully applied for and coordinated a partnership with the Home Depot Foundation to accept approximately $40,000/month in over-stock items from the Wilkins Township store - the Foundation helps to coordinate the receiving and disbursement of these home improvement donations to those in need in communities throughout the District
  • There were 79 Mini-Grants totaling $34,000 provided to teachers enabling them to deliver innovative programming and raise the level of education across the District
  • There have been WHAF Scholarships totaling $8,000 awarded to graduating seniors pursuing post-secondary education at non-four year institutions, as well as, the Julia Anne McCool Memorial Scholarship for the Arts and Humanities
  • The All District Art Show, the WHAF's signature event, attracted over 2,000 attendees in 2008 demonstrating the community-wide support for the District, the Foundation and its objectives

Allocation Framework

Below is a chart that depicts the Allocation Framework which the Foundation uses to guide discussions for investment opportunities. Though many of the programs listed in the Framework below are still in the process of being finalized, the ones in italics are programs in progress. Many of the programs in progress, of which are several Teacher Mini-Grant programs, come from the Woodland Hills Academic Foundation (WHAF).
